TESCO: COOKING FOR ALL GRANTS

150 project grants of £1,000 are available to a wide range of UK organisations working with children and young people aged up to 16 to improve children’s access to healthy food, have a wider understanding of where food comes from and an opportunity to learn how to prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals.

o Who can apply: UK not-for profit organisations and schools that are supporting young people up to the age of 16 around nutrition, healthy eating and cooking.

Following the success of its “Footie For All” grant programme in 2024, Tesco Stronger Starts is expanding its commitment to promoting children’s health and wellbeing across the UK by launching a Cooking for All Fund for children and young people up to the age of 16.
In recognition of children needing a Stronger Start in life, the Cooking for All campaign will offer a total of £150,000 in grants in an effort to improve children’s access to healthy food, have a wider understanding of where food comes from and an opportunity to learn how to prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals.
With 150 project grants of £1,000 each available to organisations and schools across the UK, Tesco aims to help local communities thrive by investing in children and young people, supporting them through access to healthy food, nutritional information, where food comes from, and how to cook it.
Grants can be used for such projects as:
o Community organisations running a Food Bank.
o Registered charities addressing food poverty in a local area.
o Schools providing pupils with food for breakfast clubs or snacks throughout the day, or
o Schools that want to develop an area for growing food.
The following types of organisation can apply for a grant:
o Brownie/Guide/Scout groups.
o Community Councils.
o Community and voluntary organisations.
o Community Interest Companies (CICs) that are more than 24-months old.
o Charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs).
o Housing organisations.
o Mutual Benefit Societies.
o Nurseries and pre-schools.
o Schools.
o Social enterprises, and
o Youth organisations.
Funding is not available for:
o Community Interest Companies (CICs) that are either less than 24-months old or are limited by shares.
o For-profit organisations.
o Individuals.
o Projects that support over-16s, and
o Retrospective costs.
The deadline for applications is midday (12 noon) on Friday 30th May 2025.
