This is what they had to say about the workshops 

"We run sessions in Welshpool and Newtown and they are 2.5 hours long, all outdoors. We do all sorts of activities including conservation, reserve management, crafts, fire lighting, campfire cooking, green woodworking and lots of others. We tailor the activities to the needs/interests of the group and try to be as fluid as we can in the delivery of sessions. There is no expectation on our side, so if a participant wants to get stuck in with conservation, digging, weeding etc, that’s great. Equally if they want to chat and drink coffee for the session that’s fine too. Everyone will get different things out of the project and we don’t pressure people to do anything they don’t want to.

In terms of referrals, please see the form attached. If there are any individuals who you think need a risk assessment for any reason, please attach one with the completed referral form.

The sessions run at the same time for 12 weeks at the same place. The reserves we use currently are; Severn Farm Pond in Welshpool, Llyn Coed Y Dinas in Welshpool and Cultivate Community Gardens in Newtown. As I mentioned, we can only offer limited transport from a central pickup point at the moment.

To take partin the project we need participants to take part in our evaluation process. It’s a questionnaire at the start of the 12 weeks and again at the end. All data will be anonymised and sent to Cardiff university where it will be collated to present to Welsh Government for funding.
