Virtual All Wales Art and Climate Action project for YP 16-25 at The Princes Trust

The Princes Trust are running a brand new course – ‘Get Started with Art for Change’ It is a FREE VIRTUAL 6 day course being delivered completely online.

‘Get Started with Art for Change’  It is a FREE VIRTUAL 6 day course being delivered completely online via Microsoft teams. We have 12 spaces available.

We have teamed up with ‘Green Squirrel’, Green Squirrel is a Welsh not for profit social enterprise delivering creative opportunities for climate action and greener living.

Dates
  • Taster day - Wednesday 20 January 2021
  • Programme date - Fri 29th Jan – Fri 5th Feb
  • The Saturday and Sunday are for optional research – no online sessions during this time. So the programme is a total of 6 days.
  • Times TBC but likely between 11am-3pm sessions will run between 3-4 hours a day
  • We will be running this programme again in March with a new cohort of 12 young people
Criteria
  • Living anywhere in wales
  • Aged 16-25
  • This is an online course YP will need access to a laptop, internet and capability of joining MS Teams they will also need to have an interest in Art and climate change/greener living

On this course young people will

  • Receive a package with materials to support and encourage them through the project such as a sketchbook and any specific resources needed for the tutor led workshops.
  • Join daily tutor led workshops via teams learning specific skills such as; natural dyeing and botanical inks, screening printing, typography, film and photography, wildlife and botanical drawing, outdoor art and craftivism.
  • Taking part in creative challenges each day via teams
  • Create a final piece of art work that will be displayed locally
  • Offered future opportunities for volunteering
  • Offered 121 support for up to 3 months and ‘next steps’
  • Offered to take part in other Princes Trust programmes and courses including employability support, Wellbeing sessions and self-employment
