local community, such as spoons, stools, benches and shelters
• Identifying tree, plant and animal species and developing your understanding of basic woodland
ecology
• Identifying hazards and assessing risks to keep yourself and others safe when learning and
working outdoors
• Two training days per week for twelve weeks
• Training days are 10am – 4pm with breaks
• Training takes place in various locations throughout the Elan Valley Estate
• You will need to provide your own transport to woodland training sites
• Tir Coed provides iPads to all trainees in order to complete a digital workbook that supports and
evidences your learning
• Trainees that complete the digital workbook are eligible for Level 2 accreditation and a certificate
