The Service Children's Awards Cymru 2023

The Service Children Awards Cymru will be brought to you in partnership with Veterans Awards CIC, SSCE Cymru, supported by the Armed Forces in Wales and sponsored by Powys County Council.

The Location of the Awards will be held at the Infantry Battle School Brecon, the day will be supported by Tri Services Engagement teams and the fantastic band of the Prince of Wales to be held on Saturday October 28th! The Veterans Awards are a Not-for-Profit Organisation that promotes the positives from our Military Community and those organisations that support us. It's been put together by Veterans for Veterans and our Military Community in what has become our home nations national awards with three separate award ceremonies taking place in England, Scotland and Wales and we also support the Northern Irish Awards. Any money above and beyond costs is then distributed via a small grants scheme to smaller CIC's and Charities who work at grass roots level within the Military community and have a turnover of under 100k per annum! This year we are working with Supporting Service children in Education Wales (SSCE Cymru) to deliver the very first awards for service children in Wales.

In the UK we have a huge number of Service children that are doing great things within society, we want to reward these Service children who have gone above and beyond and excelled in their relevant fields especially in tough times that they have experienced. We want to find the children who even during the most difficult periods have excelled!

We hope that the children/young people who get shortlisted at our awards can tell their story and act as role models for Service children across the UK, We plan to make a series of short videos from our shortlisted finalists giving tips and advice to help other service children!

Rewarding service children in Fitness, Sport, Education and the wider community. Our nominated charity for this event will be the fantastic Little Troopers.

The awards will be a fantastic day celebrating the positives, drink on arrival and a buffet meal. There will be loads of fun engagement activities for everyone to get involved with. Please find below the link to nominate a Service child or an adult that is doing great things for Service children/young people in Wales.

This event will also be an opportunity for us to recognise the schools in Wales who have excelled in their support for service children in Education and achieved their Gold Armed Forces Friendly Schools Cymru Status.

These awards are FREE to Enter and FREE to attend if you / your school / your child are selected as a finalist. Thanks to our amazing sponsors who have enabled this to happen, Powys County Council, FORCES FITNESS Ltd, General Dynamics UK, YourNorth & SSCE Cymru!
