The Carers Conference

Conference Invitation

Please book here: The Carers Wales Conference: Finding Solutions Tickets, Mon 13 Nov 2023 at 09:30 | Eventbrite

Finding solutions to best support unpaid carers is a must for health, social care and society as a whole as we rely on carers unending work to support the most vulnerable in society.

Carers Wales is bringing together experts from multiple disciplines, including unpaid carers themselves, to discuss what best practice already exists to support carers, how we can learn from one another and what new solutions could help.

We are delighted to be joined by Julie Morgan, Deputy Minister for Social Care, alongside a number of high-profile experts including Helena Herklots, Older People's Commissioner for Wales, Helen Wyley, Wales Director of the Royal College of Nursing, Alyson Thomas CEO of Llais Cymru and Helen Walker, Chief Executive of Carers UK

We will also be launching new statistics around health and mental health of unpaid carers as part of our series of State of Caring in Wales releases that are happening across the autumn.

There will be a number of workshops including a focus on social care, health care, the new Carers Leave Act that will come into force in April 2024 and a look into how practical technology can support unpaid carers.

We are delighted to offer this conference in a hybrid format inviting those who can attend to join us at the All Nations Centre in Cardiff while also offering a fully integrated online experience. Please select the appropriate ticket when booking.

This will be a paperless conference.
