Storytelling for well-being, practice and learning.

People are shaped by stories.

DEEP, Social Care Wales and ExChange are joining forces to deliver a series of informative and practical storytelling presentations. The events will create an opportunity for knowledge exchange, learning and networking around the use of storytelling approaches to well-being, practice and learning.

Health and social care policy in Wales is very much grounded in well-being, not just of people supported by services, but also unpaid carers and practitioners. There is a diverse body of evidence about the role that storytelling can play in nurturing well-being, although storytelling knowledge and practice is not widespread in social care.

21 and 22 September 2022: online storytelling showcase event

Spanning two mornings this event will consist of a series of presentations that give an insight into existing knowledge and practice about storytelling approaches that support well-being, practice and learning. Towards the end of the event, participants will be invited to respond to the presentations. We will use participatory methods to identify key areas of interest and planning for in-person workshops later in the year - these workshops with help attendees to reflect on their values and develop their knowledge, skills and practical application of storytelling in their organisations or work.
