Bereaved parents’ listening events
This will be an opportunity for parents who have suffered the loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby in Wales over the past few years to share their experiences of the bereavement care received, in and out of the hospital setting. The event will be a safe place, with trained befrienders facilitating discussions and being available to support parents. The event will be carefully managed, to ensure sensitivity and confidentiality and no-one will be under any pressure to share specific elements of their bereavement care journey unless they want to.
These experiences will help improve bereavement care by feeding into the next phase of development of the NBCP in Wales, which is currently being scoped in conjunction with the Wales Maternity & Neonatal Network. Please forward the link here to any bereaved parents or parent groups you are in touch with: https://buytickets.at/walesnationalbereavementcarepathwaylisteningevents
Please note, the in-person listening events will be held in English. Should you wish to join the online listening event for bereaved parents, this will be available with both English and Welsh-speaking options available.
Healthcare Professionals’ workshops
Healthcare professionals are being invited to a workshop to share their views and experiences of current bereavement care services in Wales, to help shape the scoping work Sands is carrying out in association with the Wales Maternity & Neonatal Network. The workshop will be run twice on Monday 4 March, with one event running from 9.30-11.30 and the other from 2pm-4pm. Please book your place via the link here and forward to other colleagues who may be interested in contributing their own views and experiences:
