The Outdoor Partnership has launched  an 8-week hill walking programme targeting adults struggling with their mental health. 

The sessions take place in and around Newtown on Thursdays 11-3pm and are all run by the vastly experienced and qualified Helen Menhinick of Bryn Walking, in collaboration with The Outdoor Partnership, and funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

Sessions are being held between August 18th and October 20th 2022 and there is an expectation to try and attend every session. The programme will build up from low level walks and progress depending on the group’s ability, with the aim of becoming an independent hill walker by the end of the 8 weeks.

Most importantly, there is always time to stop for tea and cake! There are only 8 places available but support workers are welcome to accompany those needing extra support. Referrals

Referrals are welcomed from those who may be interested in joining the programme themselves, or any third sector organisations or health professionals who may wish to refer others onto the programme.

Anybody interested is welcome to get in touch with Bethan Logan  - Outdoors Activities Officer Mid Wales, for more information or to ask for a referral form. Referral forms need to be returned by Friday 29 July in order to process them before the first session.
