Loneliness Workshop.

Loneliness is a universal experience, one, which is experienced by most people at some point in their life. However, due to the negative impact of loneliness health and wellbeing of citizens, loneliness remains a significant concern for policy makers, practitioners, and the public.

This workshop will introduce the topic and explain the difference between loneliness and social isolation and why loneliness is such an important issue, who is affected and identify some of the key trigger point. This will be followed by an interactive activity exploring stigma and language of loneliness. The workshop will end with a discussion on how we, as individuals, practitioners and communities take actions to address loneliness and social isolation.

Who's it for?

The session is targeted towards learning providers (lecturers, tutors, assessors and verifiers of the health and social care qualifications), employers within social care and those within local authorities who have responsibilities for supporting the learning and development of the sector.

The session mainly benefits those supporting the L2 and L3 health and social care qualifications, but may also benefit others.
