Course content
- Discuss the historical and current attitudes towards Learning Disability.
- Define the term learning disability and degrees of learning disabilities.
- Determine the principles at the heart of a quality service.
- Consider the real issues people face in regard to choice, participation, respect and relationships.
- Have an awareness of our own attitudes and values towards difference, disability, institutionalisation and inclusion.
- Examine how learning disability affects the processing of information.
- Discuss Learning disability, cerebral palsy, Downs Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Global Development Delay, Epilepsy, Mental health and Autism.
