Funded by the Arts Council of Wales and the Baring Foundation, the Green Ribbon Arts Festival is a brand new event in Wales to promote how the arts can prevent mental ill health, challenge perceptions, and improve artist’s networking. The event is ‘powered by the Mental Health Foundation
The event is inspired by the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, now in its 14th year and led by the Mental Health Foundation, and previous mental health arts festivals in Wales that were organised by Disability Arts Cymru.
The Green Ribbon Arts Festival aims to:
- Engage Welsh communities, key stakeholders, and policy makers to demonstrate how the arts can be used in preventing mental ill health
- Showcase quality arts projects and interventions that help prevent mental health problems
- Improve networking for artists who are active in the mental health agenda
- Explore options for future funding to hold an annual mental health arts festival for Wales
