This course is aimed at social care staff and staff in other departments or third sectors such as housing officers, domiciliary care companies, PAVO, Community Connectors, anyone working with people over the age of 65yrs are welcome to attend.

Course Aims
- Practical Information to identify falls risks and those at risk of falling
- Understanding of where people can get support to reduce their risk of falling
- Skills and techniques useful in starting conversations about falls
- Confidence to develop a training resource locally
Objectives
- Recognise widely that ‘Falls are not an inevitable consequence of growing older’
- Develop a primary falls prevention resource that lowers the risks of falling in the community
- Make our resource, consistent and sustainable, by establishing a nationally co-ordinated network of falls prevention champions
