Dying Matters – Can we talk?

Talking about death and dying is not easy - and anyway what is it that we want, or need, to talk about and with whom?

You are invited to an online event on Thursday 13 May 2021 - 12.00pm - 1.30pm

This event, taking place as it does in Dying Matters Awareness Week (May 10 - 16 2021) is a chance to explore why it is so important to make opportunities for conversation for those who are near end of life.

We will hear from three speakers about pilot projects in Aneurin Bevan UHB, Hywel Dda UHB and Powys PTHB, in which volunteers are trained and supported to spend time with end of life and palliative patients, for companionship and conversation. Breakout discussions will discuss what can be learned from these and how we can enable conversations that matter, with the right people and at the right time.

The event is jointly organised by Compassionate Cymru and Helpforce Cymru with WCVA. All who have an interest in this topic are welcome., whether from a professional, voluntary organisation or community perspective.
