Overview
This course will encourage participants to consider how it may feel to be Autistic and how this could affect communication, understanding and interacting with others and the environment they live in. Practical strategies, legal and statutory requirements, and useful tools and approaches will be shared.

- What do we mean by behaviour? Exploring communication; voice, choice and control; and where we live and who we live with.
- What is meant by challenging behaviour?
- Sensory processing
- Types of challenging behaviour
- Communication, sensory processing, supporting people with transitions, and supporting people experiencing distress.
- Support strategies – types of interventions, coping strategies, coregulation, perspective taking, validation and resilience
- Tools for recording, reporting, analysing and understanding challenging behaviour.
