Sent on behalf of Arts 4 Dementia
You are warmly invited to the launch of A4D’s A.R.T.S. for Brain Health webinar series, on Tuesday 2 November, 3pm – 4pm.
Masterminded by our president, Veronica Franklin Gould, the webinars will run monthly, following the publication of our report A.R.T.S. for Brain Health: Social Prescribing as Diagnostic Practice for Dementia: From Despair to Desire (2021).
Speakers will discuss the new opportunity to support people from the onset of symptoms of a potential dementia, to combat the isolating fear-filled months leading to diagnosis. GPs can now refer them to social prescribing link workers who can empower them to engage in arts and wellbeing activity to preserve their brain health.
The first webinar in the series will welcome a debate between the UK’s leading dementia experts:
- Professor Alistair Burns, National Clinical Director for Dementia & Older People’s Mental Health at NHS England & Improvement.
- Professor John Gallacher, Professor of Cognitive Health at The University of Oxford; Director of Dementias Platform UK.
The discussion will be chaired by Professor Sir Muir Gray, Director of the Optimal Ageing Programme at the University of Oxford.
Please register your attendance for the webinar on 2 November via Eventbrite.
