Testicular Cancer Awareness Month - Having the balls to talk.

Testicular Cancer is the leading cancer in men 15-44. Monthly self-exams and early detection are key!

Gareth Ratcliffe has been encouraging men in Mid Wales to have the balls to talk about Testicular Cancer, raising awareness of the symptoms and how early detection is key to curing the disease. Two local football teams from Hay St Mary's FC and Presteigne joined forces off the ptich to help raise awareness, Gareth said, " They battled the weather and each other but off the pitch they stood side by side in the battle against Testicular Cancer,"

  • Testicular cancer is the leading cancer in men, including men, transgender (trans) women and people assigned male at birth, aged 15-44.
  • 2.300 cases are diagnosed each year.
  • It can strike at any age,
  • Early detection is key with a 95% chance of recovery if detected early enough.
