Powys Energy Advocacy – When and How to Refer a Client for Advocacy Support .

The Powys Energy Advocacy project supports people in Powys, who are facing barriers to their energy or are unable to resolve energy issues themselves.

The Powys Energy Advocacy project supports people in Powys, who are facing barriers to their energy or are unable to resolve energy issues themselves – they need an energy advocate on their side for support, we are a helping hand with energy in difficult times. 

Who might need support?    

·                Someone with energy debt and are not able to affordably pay it off and cannot resolve themselves  

·                Someone who cannot afford to heat their home properly – when you visit, the home is cold  

·                Someone looking to switch/compare tariffs but who is not sure how to do that    

·                Someone with a high bill who doesn’t understand why they owe so much    

·                Someone struggling to converse with their energy supplier   

·                Someone trying to set up an energy supply to a property for the first time  

·                General energy struggles the person cannot resolve independently   

What information do I need to collect?    

·                It’s useful for us to have as much information as possible about the issues a client is struggling with, so that our first call with that person can be as productive as possible    

·                If you’re able to, it’s useful for us to know what impact the energy issue is having on a client’s life, so that we can prioritise cases  

What should I tell the client?    

·                Clients can expect to hear back from the energy advocacy team within 10 days of being referred to the service

How would I refer over?  

·                Referring to us is easy – simply complete our online referral form, https://webforms.dizions.co.uk/severn_wye_energy_agency/2 

·                Service users must live in Powysto be eligible for our energy advocacy support.
