Invitation to 'Art for Well Being'

Alys Hardy, musician and aural artist in residence at Mid Wales Arts Centre, Caersws, presents her first ever exhibition in Wales: Trwy’r Drych / Through the Looking Glass (Open 1st- 31st May)

This is a multi-media project, presenting a mixture of poetry, visual imagery, sound art and music. It will take you through the mundane surfaces of life and into a world of feeling, sense and expression. The modern world can seem frustrating and sometimes joyless. This exhibition comments on how we can reaffirm our passions, use our senses, connect to our inner selves, and others around us by using the simple tools of positivity and hope. Alys is a bilingual artist, interested in using the arts as an alternative form of therapy, leading to better mental, physical health and well-being, reflecting the aims of Mid Wales Arts Centre.

Alys uses circles and loops within her work to represent the flow of life and elements from all walks of life to show how we can harness our surroundings for good. Words are used to overcome sensory block and general feelings of disarray. Come along and refamiliarise yourself with your own inner tools:  prepare your eyes, open your ears, and soften your skin for what will be a guiding process.

Opening May Day (1st of May) and is on for the whole month at Mid Wales Arts Centre, Caersws, Mid Wales.
