Dear Stakeholder,

Proposed Changes to Minor Injury Unit Services within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

I am pleased to attach a briefing paper and supporting documents in respect of the above for your attention.  In response to a number of operational issues and experience of activity levels out of hours, the Health Board has proposed some changes to the opening hours at some of its minor injury units, the details of which are set out in the paper.

Before any final decisions are made, it is important that we engage with all potential service users and stakeholders, and I am therefore writing to you to advise you of the proposals, so that you can consider these and advise us of any issues and queries they may have.  To this end, an eight-week engagement period has been arranged and the attached paper also sets out ways in which you can make your views known to us.

To ensure that we are able to take all potential views and concerns into account, I would encourage you to contact us via any of the means outlined in the briefing paper, at any time during the engagement period which is scheduled to end on Friday 3rd November.

I hope that you will be able to participate and help inform our final decision regarding our minor injury unit services.  I look forward to hearing your views.

Yours sincerely

Paul Underwood

General Manager, Urgent Care Division
