Physical inactivity costs the UK about £7.4 billion a year. It is associated with 1 in 6 deaths.

 Around 34% of men and 42% of women are not active enough for good health.

 Physical activity has significant benefits for physical and mental health. It can help to prevent and manage over 20 chronic conditions and diseases, including heart disease,cancer diabetes and depression.

Walking or cycling some of your journeys, or part of them, can give you exercise every day. You can fit exercise conveniently into your life. You can save money, improve air quality and feel good about yourself. When you travel actively you experience other benefits too.
