The new national funding programme has been established to address barriers to music faced by young people across Wales, as well as supporting a practice network which will enable knowledge sharing and foster collaboration.
The priority areas for funding are:
- Early years.
- Disabled young people.
- Young people engaging in music experiencing barriers through life circumstances, geographical issues, identity, background or language.
The programme is inviting applications from community and charitable organisations for projects lasting between six and 24 months.
Grants of up to £10,000 are available. However, it is expected that most awards will be of between £2,000 and £8,000.
Applicants are expected to show cash or in-kind match funding of at least 10% in place, or to show strong evidence of partnership working in the project.
