The Bereavement Working Group was set up last year to produce bereavement resources for families and professionals.
Please find information below about the project initiatives to date:
- Updated Directory of Bereavement Support Services available vi Powys County Council website Bereavement Support - Powys County Council)
- Four sets of approximately 20 books and workbooks available across Powys libraries, funded by Powys County Council via Welsh government Bereavement support book lists - Powys County Council. To access the library catalogue to borrow the books, visit www.storipowys.org.uk/catalogue
- Age-appropriate bereavement books and workbooks provided for Powys Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs).
- Workbooks purchased for numerous agencies who work with and support young people, including Credu, Mind, School nurses, CAMHS In-Reach, ensuring they have the necessary resource to support a bereaved child or young person.
- Bereavement Training arranged, based on the book Olly the Octopus with Dr Karen Treisman.
