Wales Cooperative want to hear from you ...

Call out to organisations/service providers to for more information on social value models of service delivery.

Donna from the Wales Co-operative Centre is hoping to talk to you about social care and social value, service delivery and well-being.

1. Are you working in social care and/or are active in helping people fulfil their well-being?

  • Wales Co-operative Centre is helping social care commissioners invest more in social value models of service delivery. We are working Welsh Government’s civil servants in the Social Services and Integration team.

2. Is your organisation using a social value model of delivery for services?

  • If you are good at delivering on the principles of the Social Services and Well-being Act, then you are likely to be using a social value model of delivery.

3. A service is a social value model if it does a number of these things - the principles of the Act:

  • Well-being outcomes – doing what matters with people as they have defined it.
  • Co-production, voice and control – people accessing services have a strong voice and control.
  • Collaboration and co-operation – organisations working together for a better shared benefit for people and our communities.
  • Prevention – thinking long-term and acting to reduce or avoid dependency on services.
  • Added value – striving to go beyond just delivering a contract. The added value can be social, environmental and/or economic.

4. If you are using a social value model of delivery, we can help you spread the good practice and open-up further opportunities.

  • Work is underway to prepare and publish ‘market stability reports’ on the local provision of care and support services.
  • Social value delivery models must feature in local markets and services. Our project includes talking to commissioners about the reports.

5. Please will you contact me to see how we can work together? Or if you would like more information about social value delivery models, please contact  -  donna.coyle(at)wales.coop
