Research on the employment of PAs in Social Care in Wales

Welsh Government want to speak with Personal Assistant and Employers in Wales to help identify and understand key issues, identify best practice and options for improvement.

We are now commencing the second phase of our study to recruit Personal Assistants to take part in an interview.

  • your contacts that may be a Personal Assistant,
  • anyone else that may be able to pass on the information below to Personal Assistants

The University of South Wales, in partnership with Data Cymru are conducting research on behalf of the Welsh Government to better understand the role and experiences of Personal Assistants (PAs) in Wales.

For the purpose of this research, anyone who is paid directly by the person they support, or immediate family of the person they support, is considered a Personal Assistant. If you are a Personal Assistant, then this is your chance to have your say.

The study team would like to invite Personal Assistants in Wales to take part in either a telephone or online interview. More information about the study and what your involvement would entail are provided in the participant information sheet attached.

  • Are in receipt of a Direct Payment for the purposes of employing a Personal Assistant;
  • May be employing a Personal Assistant with their own money;
  • Can pass the invitation to take part to any of the above
