Please see the invitation below from the Learning & Work Institute.
On 25th October (10am – 11:30am), we would like to invite you to join us at our Working Carers Roundtable virtual event, to discuss how we can be supporting the increasing number of employees in the workplace who are balancing paid work and unpaid caring responsibilities.
It is evident, perhaps now more than ever, that employees with caring responsibilities are facing several barriers in the workplace. Whether it’s having to cut down their hours or leave their jobs completely, the added responsibility of being an unpaid carer is impacting the lives and work of many individuals.
It is crucial that we recognise the issues affecting unpaid carers in the workplace and seek ways to better support them.
Therefore we welcome you to join us at our virtual event, where you can:
- Hear about how the Welsh Government is committing to supporting unpaid carers,
- Hear about the work of Carers Wales and the guidance that is available to employers wishing to support their employees,
- Take part in a discussion to establish ways we can all be working together to improve the support available to unpaid carers in the workplace.
I would be grateful if you could confirm attendance by e-mail to wendy.ellaway-lock(at)learningandwork.org.uk.
