The service change is part of our collaborative working with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board alongside Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and Powys Teaching Health Board. Together, we are proposing changes to the radiotherapy services in our region, so that it is sustainable for the future and most importantly lead to improved patient care and outcomes.
By building the new RSC, we will be able to reduce patient travel time to appointments by 3,000 hours each year as they will be able to receive their radiotherapy treatment closer to home. The recent patient survey found that over half of respondents travel by car to their appointments as well. However, public transport links and ambulance transport will also play a key role in bringing people to their appointments.
We want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and share their views with us because we want to make sure the plans are shaped by your feedback. You can do that by filling our questionnaire or by signing up for one of our online events. Click here to find out more and tell us what you think.
We look forward to hearing from you!
