Carers Rights Campaign

Welsh Government have a promotional campaign that will be launching this autumn, which is being supported by Carers Wales and Carers Trust Wales.

As you know, many unpaid carers are unaware of their rights; furthermore, many are yet to identify as an unpaid carer. Building on the Welsh Government’s 2019 carers rights campaign, a new programme of publicity will start next month and we’d like to invite you to get involved.

Starting on Monday 11 October, and running for four weeks, you will hear and see a call for people to come forward to find out more about the support available to them as an unpaid carer.  The call to action will be to a dedicated page on the Welsh Government website or to make contact with their local authority (or a relevant third sector organisation).

We want you to get involved.

We are hoping that you will want to engage and endorse what you will see throughout this month of activity.  Please join us for an overview of the campaign at a special briefing, that will last no longer than an hour, on Friday 24 September at 10am.  The meeting will be conducted on Teams. Please book your place at the Eventbrite link:

At the event you will see the marketing assets that will be used; the media plan of where and how the publicity will appear; share how we can all work together to best effect; and you will have the opportunity to talk with representatives of Welsh Government, Carers Wales and Carers Trust Wales.

During the campaign you will see the hashtag #makeyourselfknown so please share and connect.

We look forward to seeing you and thank you in anticipation of your support.

In the meantime, if you have any queries about the campaign, please contact Meryl Randell-Jones
