Can You Support Social Care Wales to Shape Services.

Social Care Wales are keen to understand the crucial role that the third sector plays in Wales to achieve the goals set out in the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014

Services

The implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 has meant very significant changes in the way social services are planned, commissioned and delivered characterised by a stronger emphasis on:

•                     prevention and early intervention

•                     the promotion of well-being and how services can help people achieve what matters to them

•                     co-production – citizens and professionals sharing power and working together as equal partners, seeing people as assets, and ‘working with not to’

•                     multi agency working and collaboration

Reflecting these principles, the Act places a duty on local authorities to promote social enterprises, co-operatives, user-led services and the third sector to deliver care and support and preventative services for adults, children, young people, carers, their families and communities.

Third Sector

Social Care Wales are keen to understand the crucial role that the third sector plays in Wales to achieve the goals set out in the Act. Currently there is little evidence to demonstrate the impact and added value of the role of the third sector. We would like your help in gathering useful data to provide this evidence. This short survey will help us map and understand the following:

•                     Number of third sector organisations delivering care and support services and activities

•                     Number of people third sector organisation are supporting in Wales

•                     Impact of third sector services in preventing critical care and support needs

•                     Highlight good practice – where good work is happening in giving people voice and control

The survey is being cascaded through a range of networks to ensure that we achieve as strong as response as possible.

Survey

We would be grateful if you could review and complete this brief online survey by clicking here

The survey will take between 5-10 minutes to complete. The data captured in the survey will inform further work in supporting local authorities to promote social enterprises, co-operatives, user-led services and the third sector to deliver care and support and preventative services.
