A free, half-day session for volunteers, staff and carers covering the key aspects of safeguarding best practice, based on the All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training programme
This course will ensure that you have the knowledge, attitudes and skills essential for keeping the people you work with safe and protected from harm. By the end of this course you will:
● Understand the principles and values behind effective safeguarding
● Know how to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect in children, young people and adults
● Understand your own role in relation to safeguarding children, young people and adults
● Understand the procedures and referral routes for protecting people at risk from harm, abuse and neglect
● Be up-to-date with relevant policies on safeguarding
● Receive a personal action plan for implementing your learning
