THE WOLFSON FOUNDATION FUNDING FOR HOSPICES AND PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAMME – grants for hospices

Grants generally of between £15,000 and £125,000 are available to hospices and palliative care organisations in the UK for new buildings, refurbishment work and equipment.

The Wolfson Foundation’s Hospices and Palliative Care Grant programme opened to applications on Sunday 14th May 2023 with a deadline for Stage 1 applications of 23:58 on Saturday 1st July 2023. The programme supports hospices and palliative care organisations that provide excellent care to patients and their families. Grants are awarded towards new buildings, refurbishment work and equipment.

Applicants should meet both of the following criteria:

o Be a registered charity or a statutory authority, and
o Be registered with the relevant regulatory authority, where applicable, and have at least a good rating.

Projects should aim to produce one or more of the following outcomes:

o Increased access to services for new and existing users.
o Improved quality and range of services, 
and
o Improved financial stability of the organisation.

Grants starting at £15,000 are available. Awards are usually between £30,000 and £125,000. Matched funding is required where the project cost is over £50,000.

 

The Foundation has a 2-stage application process with the following key dates:

1. Opens to Stage 1 applications on Sunday 14th May 2023.
2. Stage 1 application deadline: 
Saturday 1st July 2023 at 23:59.
3. Stage 2 application deadline: 
Friday 1st September 2023 at 23:59.
4. Funding decisions: 
December 2023.
