The aim of the Universal Music UK Sound Foundation’s School Awards programme is to improve access to music for schools, students and teachers by supporting the purchase of musical instruments and equipment.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to schools that are teaching the national curriculum in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Funding is not available for:

o Music Studios/Businesses.
o Private music centres/Music Services.
o Retrospective costs (i.e. costs already incurred).
o Community projects, or
o Staffing costs to cover teaching of the national curriculum or peripatetic music lessons.
