o Who can apply: UK registered charities with an annual turnover of under £500,000. The Trust also awards grants to individuals.

The Thomas Wall Trust awards grants annually of up to £5,000 to UK registered charities for specific projects or core activities that provide disadvantaged adults aged 18 and over with the necessary communication skills for improving their employment prospects, self-confidence, resilience, and life chances. Applications from charities working with minority, marginalised and disadvantaged groups, such as black, Asian and minority ethnic, asylum seekers, refugees, women and people with learning, and mental or physical disabilities, are particularly welcomed.

In addition, the Trust’s Grants to Individuals programme aims to support motivated adults living in the UK to undertake education and training that will increase their chances of employment with an increased maximum grant amount of £1,500.

Grants to registered charities of up to £5,000 are available for a period of up to 3 years. Projects that have matched funding in place are likely to be prioritised. Applying charities must have an annual turnover of less than £500,000.

Grants can be used for project or running costs, but cannot be used for capital projects.

Funding is not available for:

o Capital costs (i.e. the purchase of land, buildings or construction).
o Charities that operate outside of the UK.
o Hospitals.
o Organisations with political, lobbying or proselytizing (the action of attempting to convert someone from one religion, belief, or opinion to another),
or
o Subsidiaries or franchises of larger charities.

The Trust operates a two-stage application process for its Charities Grant programme, as follows:

The next application deadline for applications from registered charities for the Trust's March 2023 meeting is Monday 23rd January 2023.
