THE PROWTING CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 are available to established registered charities in England and Wales that are supporting the wellbeing of dogs and horses, the care of injured jockeys and the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer, heart conditions, dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

Dorset-based thProwting Charitable Foundation is a small grant-making charity that has recently moved away from ad hoc applications to a formal application process, as part of which completion of a Pre-Application Form is encouraged.

Applicants must be a UK registered charity with a proven track record that has been registered with the UK Charity Commission for at least 3 years and can provide their most recent set of accounts.

The Foundation’s main areas of interest are:

o The wellbeing of dogs and horses.
o The treatment, rehabilitation, and general care of injured jockeys, 
and
o The support and or research into the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer, heart conditions, dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

The Foundation will only consider making a grant towards projects where:

o The grant will be applied to further one or more specific projects.
o The research funded is likely to yield practical benefits.
o The grant will be used to fund something tangible such as equipment or infrastructure, 
and
o The grant will not be used to fund general running costs and administration.

Grants normally range between £5,000 and £10,000.

All grant proposals must be made via the Foundation’s website, preferably through a Pre-Application Enquiry Form, where further criteria is set out.

Applicants are advised to contact the Foundation’s administrator, Katie Roberts, if they have any queries regarding eligibility and/or require assistance with the application process.

The Foundation’s trustees meet twice per year to consider applications and decisions can take up to 5 months from the date of submission.
