THE NINEVEH CHARITABLE TRUST

One-off grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available to UK registered charities, schools and Community Interest Companies (CICs) for projects and activities that promote a better understanding of the countryside.

The objectives of the Nineveh Charitable Trust are:

1. To improve the health and welfare and education of the general public.
2. To promote the study and appreciation of agriculture, horticulture, silviculture, land management, ecology & conservation and preservation of the countryside, 
and
3. The study and appreciation of land and estate management that encourages conservation of the countryside.

One-off grants up to £5.000 - with the occasional higher award - are available to a broad range of UK registered charities and Community Interest Companies for projects that encourage education, access and preservation of the countryside. Creative and innovative approaches that meet the Trust’s objectives are welcomed. The Trust usually sets aside a grant budget of £500,000 each year.

 

Funding is not available for:

o Animal sanctuaries and care.
o Expeditions or personal educational needs without a wider benefit.
o General appeals or mail-shots.
o Organisations based outside the UK, 
or
o Projects unrelated to the Trust's objects.

Applications may be made at any time in writing. The Trust calls this a ‘Proposal Letter’ and asks that it should be no longer than 2 pages of A4 and include:

o How much funding is required and how any grant award will be used.
o How the project supports the Trust's aims.
o Methodologies (for example, how the success of a project will be measured).
o Successful outcome indicators – applicants are required to specify up to three measures that will demonstrate the success of the project,
 and
o What the project outcomes and benefits will be.

Applicants are also requested to complete a Contact Form. This can be downloaded from the Trust’s website and 4 copies included alongside 3 copies of the Proposal Letter.
