The Gillian Stevenson Charitable Trust is a recently formed Yorkshire (Leeds) based grant-making family Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a mission to help charitable organisations in the UK carry on doing what they do best (notably, the Trust will fund the continuation of a project, service or activity that is already being provided), with a specific interest in enabling access to activities and services that, without its grant support, disadvantaged children, young people and families would not be able to participate in.

The Trust’s focus is on supporting eligible organisations that work with children, young people and families from disadvantaged backgrounds who are living in difficult circumstances, for example through:

o Disability.
o Financial hardship.
o Ill health,
and/or
o Other forms of hardship.

Grants of between £100 and £5,000 are available with no matched funding requirement for UK charitable organisations, including registered charities, community organisations, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), charitable companies and Community Benefit Societies. All applicants will be required to have an up-to-date and functional Safeguarding policy.

Grants can be used for:

o A new or one-off project, service or activity.
o A one-off purchase of equipment.
o Emergency funding to cover running costs of the organisation so that it can continue to function. (Note the funding cannot cover routine running costs),
and
o The continuation of a project, service or activity that is already being provided.

Funding is not available for:

o Capital costs unless directly related to the funded project, service or activity and it can be demonstrated how the items will be used after the funding period ends.
o Organisations that have been awarded a grant by The Gillian Stevenson Charitable CIO in the previous 12 months.
o Organisations that have previously submitted a proposal where the applicant failed the Charity Trustees' due diligence checks and the issues identified at that time have not been addressed,
or
o Salaries.

To apply, organisations should email the Trust at info(at)gillianstevensontrustuk.org to request an application form. Further information and guidance is available on the Trust’s website.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 28th February 2023 for consideration at the Trust’s meeting scheduled for Friday 24th March 2023. Applications that fail to meet an application deadline are automatically carried forward to the next round, which take place every 3 months.
