The Fitton Trust is a discretionary grant-maker, meaning that it places no restrictions on the types of good causes it can support.

The objects of the charity are to benefit by way of grants such legally charitable institutions as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit.

During the year ended 5th April 2023, the Trust made 234 grants totalling £67,050 (2022: 219 charities totalling £63,125). There is no specific requirement for matched funding.

The vast majority of grants were for between £200 and £350. Just one charity received a grant of over £1,000. This was the Friends of St Mary's Hospital, an independent voluntary organisation providing support and raising funds for St Mary’s and Western Eye Hospitals in London, which was awarded a grant of £1,600.

The Trust does not publish a list of funded charities in its annual accounts, nor does it maintain a website. Further information about the Trust is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.

Trustees usually meet 3 times each year usually in February, June and November to consider grant requests.
