The EA Foundation funds projects in:
o Education.
o Poverty reduction.
o Basic services, and
o Sustainable development worldwide.
Funding is open to UK-registered charities for projects, both internationally and in the UK, which align to at least one of our 4 funding priorities as follows:
1. Provide educational opportunities, particularly for disadvantaged individuals and communities
2. Improve access to basic services and infrastructure to disadvantaged communities, including but not limited to healthcare, clean water and electricity
3. support people in reduced circumstances, without sufficient means, or those who are experiencing times of need thereby providing important support for the relief of poverty or other forms of disadvantage such as disability, and
4. Address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development, both and through the pursuit of the other key areas of focus.
The Foundation hasn’t specified an upper or lower grants limits as it would like a realistic picture of the true costs of the work. However, based on their current giving trends to date, the grants approved have averaged between £20,000 - £50,000 for an average duration of 12-24 months.
Funding is not available for:
o Work that has already completed.
o Work that is the sole/main responsibility of the government (with exceptions as above).
o Scholarships, student fees or proposals that only benefit an individual
o Work that is not charitable, or
o One-off events
