The Bishop Radford Trust is a charity which supports Christian ministry in the UK and internationally.  It works with a range of different charities and has given out over 550 grants amounting to more than £8 million since it was founded in 2006.

Revenue grants (the Trust does not fund capital projects) of up to £2,000 are available for UK registered charities whose work supports Christian ministry and benefits their local community in the UK or who are working internationally on larger projects that support the Christian ministry.

While matched funding isn’t essential, the Trust is more likely to favour applicants that have sought and secured funding from other sources prior to applying, particularly if they can evidence that at least 50% of the total project cost is covered by matched funding.

The Trust will take the following factors into account when reviewing request for gran support.

1. For work within the UK, the Foundation tends to give to smaller charities where the contribution makes a significant difference.
2. For work based overseas, the Foundation tends to give through larger, more established Christian UK registered charities, or through charities where they have a personal connection.
3. Preference is given to projects where the apparent need is great and the potential scale of the impact is substantial,
and
4. Projects which spark interest and passion are favoured.

Funding is not available for:

o Activities that have already taken place i.e. retro-funding
o Building/capital projects – this includes renovation & restoration works, boilers, stained glass etc.
o Charities that are not registered in the UK.
o Charities that do not have a Christian ethos and Christian ministry in their charitable objectives.
o Charities that have not yet filed at least one set of accounts with the Charity Commission,
or
o Pilot schemes, except where the charity has been previously funded by the Trust or is known to the Trustees.

Applications may be made at any time. Further information, guideline, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and an online Eligibility Quiz can be found on the Trust’s website. Charities must complete the online Eligibility Quiz before being considered by the Trust for grant support.
