The Amazon Literary Partnership is back for a 4th year in the UK and is now accepting applications from not-for-profit literary organisations who are looking for financial support in 2023.

With the goal of helping those from all communities in the UK tell their stories through writing and finding an audience, the Amazon Literary Partnership supports non-profit literary organisations that empower writers to create, publish, learn, teach, experiment and thrive.

By funding organisations that champion the voices of underrepresented writers, the Amazon Literary Partnership aims to encourage people to write - and read - about a greater variety of perspectives on the world we live in today.

The Amazon Literary Partnership provides small grants to UK literary organisations that empower a whole host of writers, no matter what age or stage they are at. In 2022, the Partnership supported 28 literary groups across the UK, including

o Organisations dedicated to helping children and young adults develop their writing skills.
o Organisations championing the next generation of playwrights who might otherwise lack pathways into theatre.
o Organisations running their own literary festivals to highlight the words and work of underrepresented writers,
and
o Organisations providing after school writing workshops.A list of all funded organisations is provided under the heading “Supported Groups” on the Amazon Literary Partnership website.

No information is available about the level of grant funding available, but we understand that awards are likely to be in the region of £2,000.

Applicants must be a registered not-for-profit organisation in the UK, whose core mission is to:

o Build authors’ careers.
o Celebrate storytelling.
o Develop emerging writers,
and
o Support diversity.

Applying organisations should be structurally and financially sound; display energy, passion, and reach; have an online presence and an enthusiastic membership or readership.
