Heart Research UK and food chain SUBWAY provide an established partnership grant scheme which supports local initiatives to promote a healthy heart and help prevent or reduce the risk of heart disease through its Healthy Heart Grants programme. The programme is rolled out region by region across the UK from 31st January (opens in Wales) to 19th September (South West England).
Grants of up to £10,000 are available for, ideally, innovative projects that will have a large impact on communities to help prevent heart disease, particularly for vulnerable and isolated groups of individuals who are at an increased risk of developing heart problems in the future, such as people aged over 50, men, smokers and those that have a consistently unhealthy diet. Projects should run for a period of 6-12 months.
While matched funding is not essential, it is welcomed.
Further information, guidance and an online application form can be found on the Heart Research UK website.
