Cooking Counts

Following a successful UK Shared Prosperity Fund bid, Powys County Council is running a new cooking and numeracy course for people aged nineteen and over. 

Cooking Counts promotes numeracy through cooking by giving the opportunity to practice everyday mathematical skills while preparing meals. 

Courses comprising six informal two hour sessions will be held at the following locations across Powys and are free to attend: 

  • Play Radnor, Llandrindod Wells – 7th June, 12.00
  • The Muse, Brecon – 10th June, 12.00
  • Newtown Family Integrated Centre – 13th June, 13.00
  • Cwmdauddwr Hall, Rhayader – 5th August, 14.00
  • St Mary’s Church, Welshpool – 9th August, 12.00
  • The Strand Hall, Builth Wells – 3rd September, 12.00 
  • Victoria Hall, Llanwrtyd Wells – 23rd September, 12.00
  • Llanidloes Community Centre – 27th September, 12.00
  • Ysgol Golwg Y Cwm, Ystradgynlais – 1st October, 15.00
  • Knighton Community Centre – 3rd October, 15.00
  • Cross Keys, Llanfyllin – 11th November, 12.00
  • Taj Mahal, Machynlleth – 12th November, 12.00
