The fund is available to Social Value Sector organisations to develop new or to expand preventative services and activities that improve well being, reduce the need for higher level intervention and improve the ability of individuals to live active and independent lives.
The fund is available to cover the start up costs ‘pump prime’ of the new or expanded service or activities and must have a clear plan on how the initiative will continue once the initial funding has been used.
To achieve the above, the Social Value Forum identified the following priorities;
Reducing Social Isolation
Co-ordination and developing activities and services in an area through collaboration
Developing new or expanding Community Transports Schemes
Setting up practical services on a not for profit basis that matter to people such as befriending, cleaning, gardening, domestic repairs
Developing voluntary skills swap schemes
No limits have been set on the amount that each organisation can apply for as the panel will make decisions based on the best use of the available £175,000
