Small grants up to £750 are available from PAVO to run projects that provide volunteering opportunities for young people aged 14-25 years.
NEW DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS is 14th AUGUST 2020
The young people can be from an existing group or just young people coming together to run a project of their own choosing. The application MUST be written by a young person.
Past projects have included organising fundraising events to support local charities, local environmental schemes, and improving facilities for older people. Examples of future projects could be around mental health, young carers, the elderly, health & fitness, art, life skills etc.
In the current circumstances, we understand projects will be delivered differently and encourage creative applications from projects engaging and supporting individuals/communities in response to Covid-19.
A panel of young people from Powys will assess the applications.
Organisations must:
Be youth led
Have volunteering take place in Powys
Benefit the wider community and young people
Have an adult to take responsibility (18+)
Be made up of at least 3 young people
Be legally constituted with a governing document that is signed and adopted; (the objectives of the project must fit with the constitution)
Be independent of government and private sectors
Have a bank account, in the name of the organisation, which requires at least two signatures
Evidence that the project will contribute to at least one of the following Welsh Government’s National Strategy, Prosperity for All (see following table):
EARLY YEARS

SOCIAL CARE:Activity which helps build strong communities and for people to live independent lives for longer. | DECARBONISATION:Raising awareness of climate change or taking action to reduce the carbon footprint of individuals, communities or projects. |
For 2020/21 the Youth Led Grants can be used to support youth led volunteering responses to Covid19, for activities that may take place during lockdown and that supports the recovery period post-pandemic.
It is anticipated that any activity that is in support of the above, does so in line with at least one of the six priority areas.

- The panel will fund projects that contribute to one or more of the above priority areas of the Welsh Government's National Strategy, Prosperity for All
