The 7Stars Foundation is a registered charity that supports the most challenged young people in the United Kingdom.
The Foundation aims to relieve the needs and suffering of children aged 16 years old and under; in particular those who face challenges caused by:
o Abuse.
o Addiction.
o Child Carers for sick and/or disabled adults, and
o Homelessness.
UK registered charities with an annual turnover of under £1.5 million may apply for a project grant of up to £2,500 (with no matched funding requirement) which enable young people to:
o Address a lack of provision (due to a lack of funding from alternative sources) in geographical areas of deprivation and socioeconomic disadvantage.
o Have a direct impact and respond to a need in an immediate way.
o Have the best start in life and aim high.
o Provide immediate support, not just in the short-term but with long-term benefits too, and
o Respond to one or more of the funding priorities of the7stars Foundation.
The Foundation offers grant funding across the following 4 strands:
1. Project grants to charities aligned to the Foundation’s funding priorities and age range.
2. Shine Bright funding for regional charities partners. Funding enables charities to purchase wellbeing, emotional and mental health support items or educational, creative resources for the young people they support to promote happiness in a time of worry and anxiety. (Beneficiaries are selected and items are purchased/distributed by the charity partner.)
3. Direct grants funding to individuals affected by the themes prioritised by the Foundation, supported by outreach/social/care workers or legal professionals (applications must be submitted by the supporting professional), and
4. Star Start funding to tackle child food poverty escalated by COVID-19. The Foundation supports breakfast clubs for young people aged 16 years and under, living in urban cities within the UK. During 2021 the Star Start funding was directed towards London. No update has been posted on the Foundation's website for 2022.
