With the combined strength of over a quarter of a million supporters, we will champion, defend and expand access to the arts across the UK.
Our campaign has always been about the power of joining together. The NCA was formed when more than 600 arts organisations assembled at The Old Vic theatre in London, to prepare a “collective and independent response” to funding threats. That was in 1983. 39 years on, a collective and independent response is still desperately needed.
The impact of the pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis and the prospect of further austerity are just some of the pressing challenges facing the arts. But this merger puts us in the strongest possible place. Together, we will campaign to ensure that the arts are available from childhood, accessible to all and thriving everywhere.
We remain an independent charity, funded by small donations. Everything we are able to do is thanks to the generosity of supporters like you.
If you believe that the arts make life better, and that everyone should have opportunities to experience and take part in them, please consider becoming a Founding Donor of the Campaign for the Arts with £3 a month – or more if you can afford it.
At this crucial moment in our development, every contribution makes a big difference.
Our new Campaign for the Arts has been several months in the making. Alongside upcoming editions of our Arts Index and Hearts for the Arts awards, there are some exciting new projects in the pipeline.
