Virtual Consultation Workshops for Commissioners, Funders & Procurement Officers

NCVO would like to invite you personally to become involved in the development of an additional unit for NCVO Trusted Charity quality mark by attending one of our virtual consultation workshops. NCVO will, of course, acknowledge your contribution when the new unit is launched.

NCVO will be hosting two workshops on-line on Thursday October 10th and Friday October 11th. Places are limited to ensure everyone can contribute to these interactive workshop

NCVO Trusted Charity is a self-assessment quality standard tool that has been used for over twenty years by voluntary sector organisations. It is a governance and management tool which promotes excellence within organisations. Over eleven quality areas, organisations are asked to provide evidence of how they meet the indicators of each quality area, and then apply for the optional, externally assessed Quality Mark.

NCVO is in a key position to promote excellence within the voluntary sector – it is also keen to ensure that its products and services are appropriate to the current needs of voluntary sector organisations, their partners and their funders. Recent market analysis has demonstrated that there is now a need for an additional, optional unit to support commissioning and partnership working.

Voluntary sector organisations are now working more closely with statutory and cross sectoral partners than ever before – it is essential that voluntary sector organisations can engage safely, efficiently and effectively in partnerships, sub-contracting and consortia arrangements in order to achieve their aims.

It is critically important that commissioners and funding partners are confident in partnerships and consortia arrangements. It is important that consortia and partnerships are sustainable and well managed so that offer value for money. They must also be able to clearly demonstrate not only the quality of the services they offer but also the added value of their consortia/sub-contracting/partnership arrangements.

Good Ideas Ltd. have been commissioned by NCVO to develop the additional unit in commissioning/consortia. We feel strongly that it is important to take a co-production approach to the development of the new unit – so we have already engaged with a wide range of key, experienced stakeholders to form an Expert Consultation Group. This group comprises

  • Voluntary sector leaders and managers who are experienced in being involved in and/or leading partnerships and consortia.
  • Commissioners and funders
  • Trusted Charity Mentors, Assessors and Verifiers
  • Leaders from infrastructure and support organisations
  • A range of other stakeholders from across the UK and beyond

We would very much appreciate your involvement in the next phase of this development process. The on-line workshops will take place on

Thursday October 10th and Friday October 11th

10.30am – 11.30pm

At these workshops you will get information about the unit’s contents and see examples of specific indicators developed with stakeholders to date. You will work with colleagues to provide feedback on the prototype unit and to share your experiences of partnership working.

Places are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis so

please book your place now via Eventbrite.

You will be interviewed, on a one to one basis, by one of our consultants to provide feedback on the prototype – all contributions are anonymous. Please note that due to the innovative nature of this work your involvement would be subject to an NCVO confidentiality agreement.

Should you choose to participate in the workshops NCVO will, of course, acknowledge your contribution when the new unit is launched later in 2019.
