Being able to recognise the signs of neglect and abuse is a vital skill for supporting children and adults. But in a large county of rural, dispersed communities it is often hard for trainers to share those skills with those who need them the most.
Supported by the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Programme (funded by Welsh Government and administered locally by Powys County Council), PAVO is now able to take its Essentials of Safeguarding programme on a Powys-wide tour to ensure that it is accessible to as many people as possible.
Administered by Social Care Wales, the All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness programme is the most up-to-date and relevant safeguarding resource for those working with children and adults across Wales. PAVO's aim is to ensure that those serving Powys communities have the knowledge, attitudes and skills essential to keep the people they work with safe and protected from harm.
