The Poppy Factory

The Poppy Factory’s mission is to support wounded, injured and sick veterans on their journey into employment and to continue supporting them whatever challenges they may face.

Four out of five of the veterans that the Poppy Factory work with report a mental health condition. Our one-to-one employability service is veteran-centred and helps people of all ages, including many over 50. The men and women supported move into a wide range of jobs across many different sectors, from logistics and construction to the charity sector and health care. Support is provided remotely by telephone and by email, with video calls wherever possible.

The Poppy Factory are able to help veterans with health conditions navigate the challenges of today’s employment market and move back into meaningful and sustainable work. If you are supporting any ex-servicemen and women who are unemployed or have a redundancy date, please do send them their way as they are still accepting referrals for support. Since the COVID19 Pandemic started the Poppy Factory have supported over 150 individuals with health conditions back into work.

To be eligible for support an individual will need to have served at least one day in the regular or the reserves and have some type of health condition. This health condition can be physical or mental and does not need to be attributable to service

Kirsty Gronow from the Poppy Factory is available to have a chat prior to making a referral. She is also available to attend team comms meetings should the opportunity arise to provide more detail. Likewise, should a veteran like to speak prior to referral, to see if the service is suitable for them.

Kirsty can be contacted via email KirstyG(at)poppyfactory.org and by mobile phone 07387 107209
