"The Stroke Association are currently making some changes to help support as many stroke survivors as possible in Wales, and across the UK.
Unfortunately, we have taken the difficult decision to stop running the neuro cafés from 31 March 2021, because we feel we are not best placed to deliver this service due to our specific expertise in stroke and it's impacts rather than all neurological conditions.
I know that this will be disappointing news and we want to reassure you that we are working closely with the Health Board and partners to explore other ways we can continue to support stroke survivors in Powys through the Community Steps Project.
During the next few weeks Caroline Byrt, our Neuro Café Coordinator, will be discussing other support available from the Stroke Association, which is available to stroke survivors. For those members who attend the neuro café but are not stroke survivors, Caroline will be helping them to contact other organisations such as Headway that may be useful. We will also be signposting members to the Community Connector Service.
We are continuing to run the Community Steps programme throughout Powys for Stroke Survivors which is co-ordinated by Sharon Sinclair, she can be contacted at Sharon.sinclair(at)stroke.org.uk"
